Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Oforiwaa Queen, has criticised Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), religious leaders, traditional authorities and some journalists over what she describes as their silence concerning the legal troubles of the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
Jennifer Queen expressed her concerns in a video sighted by MyRoyalFM.com. She was speaking on Movement TV on July 27, 2026.
According to her, some organisations and individuals who have remained silent about the issues surrounding Chairman Wontumi’s case may not receive the same support or attention from the NPP if the party returns to power after the 2028 general elections.
She said she had already made a list of people she would not want to deal with if the NPP forms the next government.
NPP Official Says Some People Will Be Blocklisted
Jennifer Queen said she had already decided to distance herself from some high-profile individuals, including chiefs and pastors.
She explained that she would not be available to receive or engage with some of these people if the NPP returns to government.
“When we come into power, for the first six months, I have a list of some people, including chiefs, pastors, and other high-profile people, I will blocklist from contacting me. I have already informed them of my decision to block them,” she said.
Her comments suggest that she believes some people who are now silent about Chairman Wontumi’s legal problems should not expect to receive her support or attention if the political situation changes in the future.
Queen Questions Silence Over Wontumi’s Case
The NPP Deputy Communications Director also accused several groups of failing to speak publicly about developments involving Chairman Wontumi.
She mentioned Civil Society Organisations, traditional leaders, pastors, Christian groups and journalists.
According to her, these groups have been quiet at a time when she believes they should be speaking about what is happening in the country and the case involving the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman.
“Everything that is happening in this country now, CSOs have suddenly gone silent and are not talking about it. Neutrals, traditional leaders, pastors, and Christian society have all gone silent, affirming that they are in full support of whatever this government is doing. We have journalists claiming the president is deputy Jesus Christ on earth,” she stated.
Jennifer Queen’s comments show her frustration with what she sees as a lack of public discussion from groups that are often expected to speak on important national issues.
She argued that traditional leaders, religious figures and civil society groups should not remain silent when major political and legal issues are taking place.
Warning Ahead of the 2028 Elections
Jennifer Queen also warned that the NPP would remember those who remained silent if the party wins the 2028 general elections.
She said the current situation could change after the elections and that people who are now choosing not to speak could later come forward when the NPP returns to power.
“When we win power in 2028, our candidate will be the deputy Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ himself, the twelve disciples, and everything. The silence these people have taken should remain like that till 2029. Power is transient, and on the night of December 7, 2028, after we are declared winners, no one will leave this country, and we shall see. We will see those who will come out to speak,” she warned.
Her statement was a strong warning to individuals and organisations she believes have failed to speak about the issues surrounding Chairman Wontumi.
She also reminded her audience that political power does not last forever. Her comments suggest that she believes those who are currently in power may not remain in power permanently.
Chairman Wontumi’s Legal Case
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, is the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman.

According to the report, Chairman Wontumi was sentenced to a 20-year jail term by an Accra High Court in connection with the Samreboi illegal mining case.
The case involved charges related to the unauthorised assignment of mining rights and facilitating illegal mining.
