Wesley Girls’ SHS qualifies for 2026 NSMQ after dominant Central Region victory
Wesley Girls’ Senior High School has qualified for the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Championship after putting up a strong performance in Contest Eight of the Central Regional Qualifiers.
The school, popularly known as “Wey Gey Hey,” recorded a big win with 70 points. They defeated Fetteman Senior High School, which finished with 19 points, and Enyan Maim Senior High School, which scored 13 points.
The impressive victory has secured Wesley Girls’ place in the 2026 NSMQ Championship. It also means the school has become the first school from the Central Region to win the GOIL Riddle Bonanza during the 2026 NSMQ qualifiers.
Wesley Girls Take Early Lead
Wesley Girls started the contest strongly in the opening Problem of the Day round. The team showed good knowledge and answered questions correctly while also making good use of the bonus points available to them.
